About CViHub. The Coachella Valley Innovation Hub (iHub) is operated by the Coachella Valley Economic Partnership (CVEP) and hosted by the Western Coachella Valley cities of Palm Springs, Desert Hot Springs and Cathedral City. The iHub helps clean technology & renewable energy based start-ups bring to market innovative technologies, products and services. Coachella Valley iHub clients are provided access to business support, education, training, networking, financial assistance, and a wide variety of additional services and incentives.
About Incubators. Business incubators are support systems designed to move start-up companies from concept to commercialization. They provide clients with the necessary resources and services to successfully grow their business. A business client will eventually “graduate” from an incubation program when they have outgrown incubator resources and are ready to operate on their own.
About CVEP. The Coachella Valley Economic Partnership (CVEP) is a regional economic development organization. CVEP is devoted to attracting, retaining and expanding business while improving the quality of the workforce in order to raise the overall economy and quality of life for the region. CVEP’s mission is to build a diversified, year-round economy by promoting regional job growth in local companies and through business attraction; and, by developing a well-trained and educated workforce.
Our Economic Impact. The Coachella Valley iHub and Coachella Valley Economic Partnership are integral parts of the economic success in the region. Between both organizations, over 150 clients were served in 2011. This resulted in 600+ new primary jobs created, 300+ jobs retained, 400+ indirect jobs, and 100+ million in total economic impact.
Our Success Measurements. The CViHub measures its success through a variety of metrics. These include: the number of companies in residence, number of graduating companies, client job creation, sales revenues, patent applications and issued patents, licenses issued, and capital investment. Ultimately we hope to nurture and grow 50 new start-up companies in five years.
